Cyber Essentials Plus is a government-endorsed scheme introduced in 2014 by The UK Government Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. It encourages organisations to adopt good practices in information security.

Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation helps organisations to reduce the risk of cyber-attack by up to 80%.

To pass the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, organisations must demonstrate required level of protection against the 5 technical security controls – as outlined below:

The certification process involves rigorous testing against technical controls mentioned above and that is why it’s difficult to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus certification. However, it ensures that the organisation follows industry best practices and security framework backed up by the UK government.
