System Hardening
The goal of systems hardening is to reduce security risk by eliminating potential attack vectors and condensing the system’s attack surface. By removing redundant programs, accounts functions, applications, ports, permissions, access, etc. attackers and malware have fewer opportunities to gain a foothold within your IT ecosystem.
Risks are identified by running security assessments and audits against your environment. However, these reports often generate a lot for workload making reducing risk a very cumbersome and lengthy task. The IT teams are usually unable to accommodate this additional workload or must deprioritise their projects/BAU work. Not an ideal situation for anyone involved. There can also be a lack of expertise within the IT team, due to their lack of experience in remediation tasks. This could also lead to missing the audit deadlines putting your organisation in a vulnerable position, creating more issues than it solves.
This is when we come in, helping you offload the remediation work by providing our resources that help prioritise and manage the work. Once completed, we evaluate our work to ensure that it is completed as expected and in accordance with the industry best practices.
How do we do that?
We treat remediation work as a project by following best project management methodology available in the industry to prioritise your organisational risks and then manage the remediation lifecycle. We use a collection of tools, techniques and best practices to reduce vulnerability in technology applications, systems, infrastructure, firmware, and other areas.
Outcomes:
• Prioritisation of remediation items based on risks
• Better management of remediation lifecycle.
• Expert resources to implement action items
• Faster delivery so you can meet your audit timelines
• Knowledge sharing with your internal team.
